Rick lives in Colorado Springs and has had a great love for music all
of his life. Rick's birth name is Rickey and was actually named after
Ricky Nelson. Rick prides himself on being extremely versatile and has
played with a wide range of different bands. Rick sings lead and
harmony vocals (4 octave range) and plays lead and rhythm guitar
performing a wide variety of music from Country to Rock, and Classical
to Jazz. His studies include music theory and he reads music well. His
past performances have included everything from a singles act to an 8
piece show group, as well as performing gigs from Barn Dances to Jazz
parties, and Oldie Sock-Hops to Classical guitar recitals for wedding
ceremonies. In addition he has put on extremely successful tribute
shows to artists such as Elvis Presley and Marty Robbins.
Currently Rick is singing lead vocals and playing guitar in the group called the "Nostalgics" which is a 6 piece "Doo-Wop" band performing classics such
as "In the Still Of the Night", "Cara Mia", and "You Belong To Me".
Rick will also be reuniting with long time friend and musician
extraordinaire, Tim Radloff, to form a duo to play restaraunts in the
Denver and Colo Spgs areas. Keep posted here for further details...
In addition, Rick teaches guitar at the Graner Music Studios in Colorado Springs (see "Lessons" section for info).
Rick's versatility includes doing the "sideman" part - playing
guitar and singing back-ups or at his best doing his quality "frontman"
work.
Aside from the music which he is so passionate about, Rick holds a
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, and has worked as an
Engineer for several years.
